Weekend ...You'll Know When You're Ready
Have you ever fallen in love? I'm talking about arrow-through-the-heart, somebody-help-me, hit-me-in-the-head-with-a-shovel kind of love. I hope it's happened to all of us, at least once. What happens next? It's a bell curve. On one end, tragically, are the people who do nothing. Eventually the opportunity slips away and you're left with the bitter dregs of disappointment and chances not taken. On the other end are the fairy tale moments..."and they lived happily ever after"... Most of us fall in the middle. You hesitate. Then, you try to plan the best time, the perfect place, and the precise words in which to confess your love. But something always goes wrong. It doesn't happen the way you planned it and you stand there waiting for this imperfect, unpredictable human to answer you. Sometimes, the outcome is wonderful, just as often it isn't and still more often you feel like you're trapped in a Woody Allen film. Ain't love wonderful? A Many Splendoured Thing... Sooner or later, if you've been letting God speak to you, if you've been listening, you realize you've fallen in love with Him. Maybe you already have a relationship with God and you've realized it's time to crank it up to a higher level. All the same awkwardness we experience with people applies with the Lord, too. Often, it's even harder. But, what if it works out? You've seen other people walking around who are head over heels in love with God and you see there's something there that you want, too. What will you do? How will you start? Ain't love terrifying? The Perfect Place and Time If you're ready, we know the perfect place, the perfect time for you to tell God anything you want to say. Kingdom Weekend is held at a little retreat center near Walworth, WI. It's free. A group of people who know you from church will cater to your every need, letting you put daily distractions away for one short weekend. It's fun. It's joyful. Sometimes, it's tough. The Right Words Whatever you say to God during this time is between the two of you. You don't have to say anything. He knows what's in your heart. Everything you do say during Kingdom Weekend is held in confidence by the rest of the group. Any words you say to the Lord that deepen your relationship, anything you say that clears the air between you are absolutely perfect. He's been waiting your whole life to hear you say them.
